The most titled club Panamanian league history (8) and its most famous, Tauro returns to CONCACAF Champions League for a second consecutive year and third time overall after winning the 2010 Apertura title. Founded by Italian industrialist Giancarlo Gronchi, Tauro wears similar uniforms to his favorite Italian Serie A club Juventus. Los Toros de Pedregal were one of the surprises of the inaugural tournament in 2008, finishing behind the Puerto Rico Islanders on head-to-head results in the Group Stage and just missing the knockout round. Last year, Tauro lost to Marathon in the Preliminary Round. Tauro features defender Leonel Parrish and midfielders Marcos Sanchez, Ricardo Amor and Jean McLean, who have each enjoyed recent call-ups with the Panamanian national team. Manager Juan Carlos Cubilla is one of only three Panamanians coaching in the Panamanian league.
