Founded as an amateur team in 1986 by brothers David John Williams and Patrick John Williams, W Connection officially joined the Trinidad and Tobago national league when it was founded in 1999, winning the domestic cup and finishing third in the league. W Connection defeated Joe Public in the 2008 Trinidad and Tobago league cup, claiming a fifth consecutive title. In its brief history the club has developed several notable players including striker Kenwyne Jones, who wen to play with English Premiership side Sunderland. Their current squad includes Trinidad international goalkeeper Marvin Phillip, and midfielders Aurtis Whitley and Hughton Hector as well as Dominican Republic international midfielder Jonathon Frias, who has developed into a key setup man for the club. In May 2009, it defeated Puerto Rico in the CFU Club Champions Cup for a third regional title.
