NEW YORK - Xelaju moved in and the LA Galaxy moved up, completing the quarterfinal field for the CONCACAF Champions League.

Thursday night's final Group Stage matches set the stage for the knockout round of the confederation's club championship, finalizing the seedings and establishing the pairings for the March quarterfinals.

Monterrey, Santos and Seattle Sounders FC already had clinched the top three spots heading into Thursday's games, but the LA Galaxy's 3-2 win over Isidro Metapan moved it into the fourth seed past Herediano, Tigres and the Houston Dynamo.

Xelaju claimed the eighth and final spot over Chivas de Guadalajara, earning the berth on head-to-head away goals despite a 2-1 loss to the perennial Mexican power.

The finishing order means two-time defending champion Monterrey will play Xelaju in the quarterfinals, with Santos against Houston, Seattle against Tigres, and the LA Galaxy facing Herediano.

Each series will open with the first leg the week of March 5-7, with Monterrey, Santos, Seattle and the Galaxy hosting the second legs of their respective series a week later.

The semifinal pairings also were wet with the Monterrey-Xelaju winner facing the Galaxy-Herediano winner, and the Seattle-Tigres victor playing either Santos or Houston. The semifinals are set for April 2-4 and April 9-11.
