Coming off its most recent championship in May and a loss to Pachuca in the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals, "Los Diablos Rojos" (the Red Devils) are eyeing continental stature.

After finishing with the third-best record in the Clausura and losing only once in the Group Stage of last year's Champions League, Toluca has made few changes to its roster, the biggest being departure of Colombian midfielder Vladimir Marin and the arrival of Argentine striker Juan Cuevas.

Besides those, the team that won the Mexican Torneo Bicentenario in a dramatic final against Santos has remained virtually intact.

Toluca again will rely on the striking ability of Hector Mancilla - who has scored 50 goals over the past two years, the work rate of Argentine Martín Romagnoli - who has played in 85 games in the past two years, a defense anchored by Edgar Dueñas and a midfield controlled by Antonio Naelson "Sinha".

The side also has options in attack with 21-year-old Nestor Calderon, who had six goals last year, and Carlos Esquivel, the 28-year-old former taxi driver who had nine goals last year.

The Diablos Rojos will enter the CONCACAF Champions League t in the Group Phase against Olimpia of Honduras in August in Group D as well as awaiting the winner of the Los Angeles Galaxy and the Puerto Rico Islanders, and the survivor of the Preliminary Round series between El Salvador's CD FAS and Xelaju of Guatemala.

Toluca enters the Champions League with expectations to advance past the Group Stage, a goal seven of Mexico's eight entrants the past two seasons - including Toluca last year -- have achieved.
