With semifinal wins on Saturday, Santos and Toluca earned places in the Mexican Clausura final and return trips to CONCACAF's showpiece club event.

In a 7-1 rout of Morelia, Santos were lifted by three goals from Oribe Peralta, who led his team to a 10-4 triumph on aggregate. The Torreon-based side did well in the 2008/2009 Champions League, advancing to the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Atlante.

Toluca posted a 3-2 aggregate victory over Pachuca, avenging a semifinal setback last month to the Tuzos in this year's Champions League. Antonio Rios scored the second leg's only goal in the 41st minute and it proved to be enough for the Red Devils, which played down a man after Osvaldo Gonzalez's ejection just a minute later.

The Mexican Clausura winner will be seeded directly into Group Stage, while the runner-up starts in the Preliminary Round.

Also, on Saturday, Saprissa overpowered San Carlos, 3-0, to win the Costa Rican Clausura, 7-2, on aggregate. It will be the third straight trip to the Champions League for the Purple Monster, which has never advanced past the group stage. The three-time CONCACAF Champions Cup winner will be placed automatically in the Group Stage.

Saprissa is the fifth team to qualify this year for all three editions of the Champions League -- joining Mexico's Cruz Azul, the Puerto Rico Islanders, as well as Honduras' Olimpia and Marathon.

In Panama, previously-qualified Arabe Unido defeated San Francisco, 1-0, to capture the Clausura title and advanced to the Group Stage of the Champions League. By virtue of Arabe's win, Tauro FC claimed Panama's second spot based on having earned more points over both seasons among the runners-up.

Municipal won the Guatemalan Clausura, easily racing past Xelaju, 4-0, in the second leg (7-1 on aggregate). It was a 28th domestic title for the Rojos, as they extended their Guatemalan record. Veteran forward Juan Carlos Plata, 39, scored in each leg of the finals. Municipal will start in the Group Stage of the Champions League, while Xelaju must commence its campaign in the Preliminary Round.

The final in El Salvador between Aguila and Metapan was postponed for one week as the situation involving the suspension of that country's federation is being further clarified.

Honduras could be awarded a third berth, which would go to Motagua, if a stadium is not approved in either Nicaragua or Belize. Neither country had a facility that met Champions League standards last season.

Weekend results left only three berths unaccounted for: one each in Belize, Canada and El Salvador.
