LA CHORRERA, Panama - It will be another familiar name returning to the CONCACAF Champions League next season, with 2010 quarterfinalist Arabe Unido coming back after claiming the Panamanian Apertura crown.

Arabe Unido beat Tauro 3-2 on Sunday in the league championship game, rallying from a 2-1 deficit with goals by Nahir Carrol in the 77th and the winner by Orlando "Papi" Rodriguez in the 89th for a 3-2 victory.

It gave the Colon-based side its fifth Panamanian league title and third in six years. Tauro was seeking to extend its record with an eighth title, took the lead on a pair of goals by Temistocles Perez.

Arabe, which will face Cruz Azul in the quarterfinals March 11 and March 17, becomes the eighth team to earn a spot in the 24-team Champions League field next season. It is assured of at least a berth in the Preliminary Round, but could avoid the knockout stage if it finishes with the best record over the Apertura and Clausura championships.

Based on the performances of Panama's teams in the Group Stage the past two seasons, the CONCACAF Executive Committee in November decided to award Panama a place in the league phase of the competition - giving it the place reserved for El Salvador.

Both of El Salvador's entrants will now have to enter the competition through the Preliminary Round.
